Building relationships, valuing different perspective, seeking out and bringing marginalized voices to complicated issues and building consensus for meaningful and lasting change.

This was a year of tremendous growth for Delaware Guidance Services!
Since 1953, Delaware Guidance Services for Children and Youth, Inc. (DGS) has brought critical behavioral health services to Delaware’s children and families. Combining clinical excellence, fiscal responsibility and our mission-driven focus on the well-being of every child and every family we serve, DGS has helped tens of thousands of children to heal and grow.
More recently, as we all encountered and moved through and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, DGS was there – helping children throughout Delaware to navigate a post-pandemic world, supporting children and families as they returned to in-person schooling and rebuilding connections throughout our communities. Along the way, DGS also helped caregivers, educators and others work through the effects of trauma caused by pandemic isolation and loss. In every interaction, DGS helped build strength and resilience.
Throughout our history, DGS has always been able to trace our success back to our incredible DGS staff members. DGS’ clinical staff possess a unique blend of clinical experience and expertise adding up to decades of experience and certification in more than 22 specialties and treatment modalities. Over the last ten years, our clinical training and mentoring programs have served as a workforce pipeline that has prepared more than 50 behavioral health clinicians in Delaware.
For 70 years, DGS has provided behavioral health services to children and families in Delaware. Because of the wonderful support of our community, donors, and friends, DGS continues to thrive and grow to meet the rising demand for quality mental health services. While some DGS services are covered by insurance, there are many programs and essential services that DGS provides that must be supported through other sources. DGS works hard to raise the additional funds and we need your help so that we can continue to realize our vision of resilient children in nurturing families.
As we celebrate this important milestone, I hope you will consider a donation to Delaware Guidance Services. Please know that your donation will allow us to continue a long history of excellence, commitment and results as we help to strengthen Delaware’s children and families.
